Thank you for using vybes (the "App"), available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in, we collect the following from your chosen provider:

• Google Sign-In: your name, email address, profile picture, and unique user ID, via Firebase Authentication.
• Apple Sign-In (iOS): your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email), via Firebase Authentication.

We also ask you to choose a username when you first set up your account.

Content You Create

When you use vybes, we store the content you create, including:

• Vybes (song posts) and album reviews, including any description you write
• Comments on posts
• Poll votes and responses
• Favourite artists, albums, and genres you add to your profile
• Profile picture images you upload

Social Activity

We store your social interactions within the app, including who you follow and who follows you, and which posts you have liked.

Device Information

We collect a push notification token (FCM token) from your device to send you notifications. This token is associated with your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your identity and maintain your account
• To display your profile to other users of the app
• To show your posts and activity in feeds
• To send you push notifications about activity on your account
• To personalise your experience (e.g. your follower feed)

3. Information Visible to Other Users

The following information is visible to other vybes users by default:

• Your username and profile picture
• Your posts (vybes, album reviews)
• Your comments and likes
• Your follower and following counts
• Your profile information (favourite artists, albums, genres, prompts)

Your email address is never visible to other users.

4. Data Storage and Third-Party Services

Your data is stored and processed using the following services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — manages sign-in and identity
• Firebase Storage (Google LLC) — stores profile pictures
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — delivers push notifications
• Vybes backend servers — stores posts, comments, follows, and all other app data

Music search is powered by Spotify's catalog. We do not store your Spotify account information; the app only uses Spotify to search for tracks and albums by name.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.

How to delete your account in the app

1. Open vybes and make sure you are signed in.
2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the feed to open your profile.
3. Tap the ··· menu in the top-right corner of your profile screen.
4. Tap Delete account.
5. Confirm the deletion in the prompt that appears.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, all your posts, comments, likes, and any other data associated with your account. This action cannot be undone.

You may also request account deletion by contacting us at vybes.apps@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

vybes is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
